First, we’d like to thank everyone for coming! This was our biggest event ever and we’d like to maintain this level of participation to help guarantee larger space at Microsoft each month, like the Commons area on the 10th floor!

As a reminder (for housekeeping purposes), we are now on Twitter at @bostonwp and we still want to maintain our presence on Meetup.com. We are still working on a Facebook page but please feel free to “like” our barebones page and we’ll be working on that too.

There are a couple of notes that I wanted to make about Meetup.com:

  1. Please be accurate in your RSVPs.  In order for us to get a more accurate headcount and to get the appropriate space, we need solid numbers. Last night’s event was the biggest we’ve had and we would like everyone to be comfortable, rather than standing or sitting on tables. Currently about 60% of total “Yes” RSVPs actually show.
  2. After each event, please rate the event. And be honest. If it was great, tell us! Likewise, if there was something you thought was lacking, let us know. We are here to try and give you the best monthly WordPress experience. And that brings us to…
  3. Asking questions… Do it! We have 2 hours a month. It isn’t a lot of time for a collective group to listen to a lecture and to network. We will try and scale down talks so that there is more time for Q&A. Each event is what you make of it. If you have issues, questions or ideas you want to run by someone, this is the perfect setting! Again, we are here to try and give you the best experience along with lectures, tips, tricks and don’t forget to take everything in stride.
  4. Topic Ideas. If you want to see a topic discussed, post one for people to vote on. We’ll try and find speakers for topics!

I’m probably rambling, but I want members to be proactive in the community and would hate to see someone upset because they didn’t ask questions.

Big thanks to James Mitchell and our panelists: Jim Spencer, Jared Williams, Ryan Boyle, Brian Krausz, James Coletti

That being said: Slides!
